MT103/23 – 1st Option • The BL, SGS and all other relevant documents have to be changed to the buyer’s
name by the refinery, before they forward the documents to the buyer.
• The refinery will only change the documents on receipt off the MT103.23 which is a commitment that the
buyer’s bank will make to the seller's bank. The commitment will be that on receipt of the original genuine
documents, the clause 23 will be removed in order for the seller’s bank to access the funds and divert the
shipment to the confirmed port/s for delivery within the specified time frame.
